Privacy policy

Plain English: what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to opt out. You can read every page and run the cost calculator without telling us anything about yourself.

1.Who we are

quantumcomputingcost.com is operated by Digital Signet Limited, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Digital Signet Limited is the data controller for this site. Contact: privacy@digitalsignet.com.

2.What we collect

This site has no accounts, no logins, no newsletter and no forms. The cost calculator runs entirely in your browser: the shots, gate counts and runtime you enter are not sent to us and not stored on a server.

Aggregate analytics. Google Analytics 4 records your visit (page viewed, referring page, device type, approximate location by country or region, and a pseudonymous identifier) so we can see which pages are useful. We use it only in aggregate and do not use it to identify you.

Email you send us. If you email a correction or question, we keep your message and address only as long as it takes to answer and to keep a record of the correspondence.

3.Advertising and sponsorship

This site shows no display advertising and sets no advertising cookies. It earns no affiliate revenue. It offers one disclosed sponsorship slot, which is currently unsold; a sponsor would be named on every page it appears on and would receive no data about you.

4.Providers and transfers

Three providers process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (DNS and security), GitHub (GitHub Pages hosting) and Google (Google Analytics). These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy arrangements or standard contractual clauses.

5.Retention and your rights

We hold no personal data of our own beyond emails you send us. Under this site's Google Analytics settings, event-level data is kept for two months and user-level data for up to fourteen months, then deleted.

Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask us to:

Email privacy@digitalsignet.com and we will act within one month (45 days for requests under the California Consumer Privacy Act). We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. You can also block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on. If you are in the UK you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk; if you are in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.

6.Children and changes

This site is a professional reference on quantum computing prices. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we change this policy we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
